Missions et responsabilités
The Role :
Reporting to the Construction Industry Purchasing Director, the Raw Materials Category Manager (CPM) is directly responsible for category management highly impacting the production process, in multiple locations globally.
In this role the CPM is responsible for all aspects of strategic purchasing. Develop, execute, and maintain sourcing activities that deliver the category strategic objectives : Identify spend, develop sourcing strategy, and lead all sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to optimize the value proposition and drive savings associated
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Maintain detailed technical knowledge of assigned materials and services.
Work closely with related internal departments and manufacturing sites to identify potential new suppliers, RFPs and contract development.
Manage the qualification of suppliers.
Propose annual cost reduction objectives and develop the annual financial standard cost budget for assigned commodities.
Manage purchasing projects, providing regular progress updates to management.
Maintain an understanding of industry purchasing best practices, sustainability, and technology trends.
Understand applicable company policy and ensure personal and team compliance including the purchasing policy and procedures
He/she will have to work closely within Saint-Gobain with :
The local Purchasing Managers and teams
The central SG Purchasing Team
The finance and legal teams
The IS and Digital teams
Location : Oberhausen, GERMANY
Profil recherché
Ability to develop and maintain a high level of credibility amongst colleagues and stakeholders
Strong written & verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Language skills : English & German mandatory (French would BE a +)
IT skills : Pack Office, Power BI, SAP MM module, Microstrategy,
Ability to achieve a high level of performance with little day to day supervision and work effectively as a part of a team.
Ability to perform well under pressure.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Demonstrated abilities in effective negotiating techniques.
5+ years of purchasing or related supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
A college degree in business, engineering, or related studies is preferred.
SAP Purchasing experience is preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time (Mainly in Europe but not restricted)
